With all due respect, you are entirely wrong. I played the game pre-patch, and got stuck. I deleted EVERYTHING from my system (patch, install data, saved game data, etc.) played again and got stuck....

I would change how the Quest system is completely broken and major quests fall off the log if you save mid level and try and come back (especially if you forget to check your log before proceeding...

No...there is ONE big issue with this game. If you start a level and playthrough the whole thing in one shot, you should be fine. but the second you quit a level with opens quests you are screwed....

So, after I completely cleared my PS3 of all system files, then re-installed everything and downloaded all DLC and the patch......I was able to complete Mirkwood with no problems.

I totally get the frustration about no news of a patch. But this isn't just a situation specific to Snowblind/WB Games/War in the North. Sadly, it's the case with a lot of non-AAA games lately...

A few tips.

Ignore the baddies that are there as well and focus on Tharzog...dodge/roll away from them and refocus on Tharzog.
Use the "call to defend command" (down on the d-pad on PS3) to...

before you host your game, go into options > game > change network type to LAN.

Both need to do it. One of you host a game, the other one looks for a game.

Proceed to slay orcs via LAN.

I've been halted at Mirkwood twice as well. First time was pre-patch. Second time was post-patch. I'm on my third attempt now. On my second attempt WITH the patch, I only deleted my game save file...

No company in their right mind would do "send in and re-release" concept. Thanks to the internettedwebs they can release patches. They've already released a patch, and the game has been out just over...

FYI.....on any item there is a button you can press that will give you more info. On PS3 it's square (when you're in your inventory)...not sure on other councils.

Exactly....like how the big sites give games like Call of Duty very high ratings and fail to mention how all you do is quickly tap L1 and pull the trigger faster than your enemy...over....and...

I've done it (on PS3)...WAY better than split-screen...especially if you both have the game and want to progress your characters.

For me personally, I'd like to see more about the game. I've seen a lot of what combat will look like, and know what a bunch of the locations are...but there should be a Game Info section that also...
