    Super Rare Loot

I think there should be weapons and armor in this game that are very, very hard to find. They could be ancient weapons that are named in the source material, or just weapons that are really powerful, or do unique things. Also, randomly generated weapons and armor, with different stats, so you never really find the same thing twice would be really cool.

Yes, stuff that has less then 1% to drop. Not so sure about random stats, i'm more into that you go to the same place over and over and hope that you'll find that one single gear you are missing, but hope there will be different armor and weps from the same places.

I would say you guys are both right on. Super rare items are a lock and the area of the map will assuredly affect specialized drops.

I agree, really rare gear and weapons would give us a sense of accomplishment when we find it. However, I am not to fond of having two swords that look the exact same but have different stats, that just makes your inventory cluttered when you pick up 13 helmets that all look the same on your character but some have different stats.
Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

Indeed, the gear has to have the same name and stats, it's cooler if you can recognize different gear.

Or, maybe you pick up a Gondorian steel sword and it does five damage, then you find another Gondorian sword, it looks basically the same, but maybe more beat up and dented, so while it is the same sword, maybe it only does 2 damage. So each weapon type could have multiple states of wear, not every sword you loot off of a dead Orc would be in the same condition. It would just add to the sense of picking through the corpses after a battle, through out the damaged items you don't want.

Yes of course, don't want the same thing to drop from every orc or troll, I just don't like the idea of a weapon got one name but different stats from whom every pick it op.

I agree, what I mean by different stats is that, one item can be slightly more or less powerful, so they vary. I just think it would add to the excitement of the search for ever better equipment.

If any of you are aware of Fable 3, the way of collecting rare weapons and loot is through either finding hidden chests or opening demon doors. Demon Doors are interesting as you must do certains tasks or actions infront of the door for it to open, something which could be done in WITN with perhaps Trolls blocking gates with the character having to some how move the troll away by searching for certain foods or entertaining or using actions in some way.
