I think there should be loot with significant historical and/or sentimental value to the characters, which can be unlocked by doing certain tasks or whatever.
Then i can google it to find out how i get it.

"Tall as the sea-kings of old, he stood above all that were near; ancient of days he seemed and yet in the flower of manhood; and wisdom sat upon his brow, and strength and healing were in his hands, and a light was about him." Return of the King; Chapter 5, Book 6, The Steward and the King
Definitely agree with The_Dark_Lord_Sauron, you should be able to pick up weapons talked about in LOTR I'm pretty sure tons of weapons are named in the Silmarillion that would be incredable to find during legendary mode.
I'd like to see Anguirel, the sister sword of Anglachel, incorporated into the game:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anguirel#Anguirel
In fact, a DLC could be designed around the recovery of all of Eol's galvorn armaments. Imagine how great it would be stalking around in black armor impervious to any blade with a semi-sentient black elven sword of meteoric ore at your side. Now that's legendary.
hmm interesting DLC add on Stephen Dedalus. Me personally there needs to be a 3rd set of armor specifically for our ranger character Eradan. We've got the Stalker and Bowmaster. So why not a Swordmaster one? Say designed in the likeness of the movies the sable uniforms of their forefathers; the Númenóreans.
The way I picture it is this;
Númenórean Captain's Chestpiece: description a black/ grey shirt over which rests a short sleeved steel hauberk, over that rests a sleeveless black surcoat embroidered with the emblems of Elendil; being the White Tree of Númenor; Nimloth the Fair(White Tree's actual name since a seedling was saved by Isildur and carried to ME; Middle Earth). Or similar designed to the Green leather armor that we see in the other chest pieces such as the Chieftain's hauberk that carries a 2% stun effect, I think.
Stats for it would be; Strength: +15 Dexterity:+25 Regenerate Health/and Power 10% or less say 5%, as well as including two or even three slots to equip elf stones.
Númenorean Vambraces; black leather vambraces bearing the pointed silver rayed star of Gondor; stats: Strength +6, Dexterity +8, Stamina +10, two equipable elf stone slots.
Númenorean Leather Leggings: either black or grey color: the stats being Strength: +3, Dexterity:+ 10, Stamina:+8 and finally Will:+6.
Dúnedain War Boots; stats: Dexterity: +9 Stamina:+9 two equipable slots for elf stones.![]()
