I don't think "ending" it would bring them into a difficult situation to continue their story. They could have a new leader for the Orcs that are trying to reorganize themselves after Sauron's fall.
However, I do see your point about the "final battle". I think that's a bit too big for the player to be a decisive part in that. Mostly this game will probably be centered around Agandar/Agandaur, the Dark Numenorean, so we'll probably won't be dealing with Sauron himself at all :P
A long time ago, a LOTR RPG like this one existed, I came to honour that RPG

I think Agandaur will be that "final" boss if there is one,and as you may know (or then not) he has his own personal army which he leads himself: Defeating that army is good enough to be "last battle" for me : >

it was just a thought that i have, because of that i say that is hard, not impossible or confirmed.

But what they always say in the trailers is that while they were fighting in the south, if it were not for some heroes the north would have been defeated. so i think that is difficult to include The Hobbit in this game , when they have already 3 books to fulfil.

But is just a thought, if they include The Hobbit it would be great.

I've got to agree with you here as hunting down a couple of fleeing orcs around middle earth is'nt enough for a sequal. So as ElveHaldir said there could be an orc general that gathers an army all over middle earth such as the goblins in moria, the uruk - hai that fled from helms deep, the free roaming trolls and any other creatures you can think of...

I know it's very early to be talking about about a sequel as we have'nt even got a release date for the first game but at least snowblind now have ideas for the future lol.
Gimli: Oh come on, we can take 'em. Aragorn: It's a long way. Gimli: Toss me. Aragorn: What? Gimli: I cannot jump the distance, you'll have to toss me. Gimli: Don't tell the elf. Aragorn: Not a word.

I kind of hope it lets you have a different ending depending on which race you choose such as the dwarf or elf or human
Pippin: "Anyway, you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission... quest... thing."
Merry: "Well, that rules you out, Pip!"

Gimli (Jumping and straining to see): "What’s happening out there?"
Legolas: "Shall I describe it to you? Or would you like me to find you a box? "

I personally would not like a direct sequel from this game but perhaps take the same concept and take the story somewhere else. Something that I would like to see, and for lore wise not to know what happened to the three character is that they all die in the end with heroic deaths, perhaps at the Battle of Erebor?
''Shall I describe it for you, or would you like me to find you a box?''.

I do not mind if they defeat a great evil hoard in the North, but a little space before we start tossing rings at any Lava would be good IMO
Sequels don't have to take place AFTER the previous game. For example, sequel could be about Battle of Fornost and the war between Witchkingdom of Angmar and forces of Arnor and you could play as one of the rangers there!

But the game can also be about finishing off these locations and putting an end to theyr domination over the region. Just like Call of Duty: World At War russian missions were mainly about finishing off the remaints of the german defences in battle of Berlin. And game can end by you standing on the top of a tallest tower in Dol Guldur or something.

If there is a sequel i would like to see the battle of Dol Guldur included in it as that battle took place after the war of the ring where Galadriel and Celeborn led many elves from Lothlórien while Thranduil led many from his halls in Northern Mirkwood, planing to destroy Dol Guldur.
