    PC: Stuttering and Freeze Issues

As have been reported in other threads, users are experiencing a stuttering issue with visuals. We've asked for your hardware specs (which have been incredibly helpful) but we still need a little more info.

If you are playing a retail copy of the game that was either purchased in store, or through steam, help us narrow this down.

Post your PC Issues here along with the following:
    -System Specs (DxDiag)
-Are you overclocking? If you turn off your processor overclock in an area you are experiencing issues, does the issue go away/get better?
-How does the game perform in Windowed mode. If you are experiencing issues with visual stuttering, do they reduce/or get eliminated by going into Windowed mode?
    -What are your v-sync settings?

Help us nail down this one last issue for our patch.

ELVEHALDIREDIT: The 12.2 driver can be directly downloaded from AMD Catalyst Control Center and is may be able to resolve the stuttering and freeze issues for The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. This does not work in all cases yet.

Theres no option to change it, so whatever it is by default.

    Q9300 Intel quad-core/2.5
    Windows 7
    NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti/Driver version 280.26
    No overclock cpu
    No overclock gpu
v-sync is whatever the game sets it to
stuttering mainly happens when sweeping the camera from side to side

Edit: Turning everything up to "max" and "on" smoothed the stuttering out, but my graphic card
works hard and fan spins up to max rpm. Not right a way. Takes about a hour of playing time.

Apparently I have to keep typing to meet the message quota.
Surely in-house you can see a stock CPU quad-core + ATI graphics card(s) replicate the stuttering.

Probably because you answered inside the quote marks and the forum didn't count that as your posting? Not sure but may be.

    Not overclocking.

The same. Game is unplayable because of constant stutter, in windowed mode or fullscreen.

    Default.

One additional issue I have is that the Playable Characters have a 1 pixel white line outlining them at all times.

    A) CPU is not overclocked. My Radeon HD6850 is overclocked from 775mHz to 850mHz. No impact on stutter.

    B) Windowed mode does not have any impact

    C) Whatever game default is. Within my knowledge AMD Catalyst does not have a v-sync forcing control.

    - CPU not overclocked
    - Window mode did not help
    - Vsync = OFF (changing to ON had no help, maybe even made it worse)

I also tried turning every graphic setting off & changing them to minimum; the change did not help the stuttering. I had also tried setting the affinity to 1, 2, and 3 of my 4 processors, and it did not help.

Those quick missions, e.g. Lorien, are plagued by stutter, so using those to test would be a good start.

    -No overclocking
-Tried windowed-mode, but it didn't help
-I've set v-sync in AMD VISION Engine Control Center to "Always Off", so I shouldn't be using any
