    @Miah

I am not trivializing anything, I am encouraging. Many people disbelieved that ATI would resolve the issue, and to see confirmation that those users can finally play the game is a happy event for those of us who hang around the forums everyday and feel for the people who could not play their game. This is because I do truly understand what the issue was. Further, I will be involved in whichever thread I chose to because I care for this game and this community, so I do not appreciate your attempt to dismiss my opinions based on your fallacious logic that if I don't have the same problem as you do it is not important.

Your take on my words is a simple misinterpretation, and the follow up posts are clarifications to unnecessary attacks from people who didn't bother checking up and quickly jumped to label us bought out.

I have heard now from at least 10 people saying they can now play the game. How many confirmations do we need before this issue is indeed resolved and who is to be the judge of that. You can say you don't think it's resolved when your first sentence says your issue was finally sorted?

Bought the game today, tried playing it and it was unbearable.

The mouse movement make the game slutter/freeze. I was not able to even leave the INN because of the horrible sluttering of the game. Even in the menu (character selection) it completely stop when i move my mouse.

I have AMD 12.2 driver (i had before even buying this game) and it does not seem to fix this issue at all (compared to what the first post mention), even tried reinstalling the driver to make sure.

    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.111118-2330)
    rocessor: AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
    Memory: 16384MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 16330MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

While I'm sure it wasn't the intention, that post & the follow ups really made me feel like my issues with the game were trivialized by someone who simply didn't understand what was going on because they run console. I own 3 copies on PC(all bought at full $60 retail), all with ATI vid cards & I couldn't even finish the 1st playthrough on any of them until this month. Thats a pretty big investment for co-op I had to wait roughly 4 months after purchase for.

If this was the early days of 3d cards & I had one of the off-brands of the time I could understand, but nowadays the choices are Nvidia or ATI. It should not have gone out the door like this, nor should it have taken that long to be turned over to ATI.

Also don't agree with the issue thread being updated as "resolved" based on just a couple people's testimony &
a few days time. I appreciate the mods for doing their job, but please don't be jumping the gun on us PC users when we have had(& continue to have) issues with the game.

Bit wordy, but hopefully this'll clear the air on the frustrations we have while still being respectful.
I appreciate the respectful approach of your post. Thanks for that.

Will people who still have concerns with this please view this in the situation back then?

Up until 3 days ago, all that was posted here were several user posts with the confirmation that their problems were fixed. After waiting for a couple of days there were still no reports of the driver update not working, as there now seem to be a lot of them.
In order to reach as much people as possible with what seemed to be the solution from ATI (of which I know Snowblind contacted them) I added a "resolved" tag to the thread, which has now been deleted. The back-patting must be seen in the same light. We knew there was an issue, we knew Snowblind addressed it at ATI, we had reports that they were fixed from several people in this otherwise half-dead forum, we had no reports of the contrary, so we were happy for PC-gamers that the issue seemed to be resolved. It's the moderators trying to help the community with the limited resources we have. If that seems like such a bad thing, then I apologize.

As a console gamer I may not have any business in this thread, but as a moderator helping this entire forum IS my business. I added information that seemed absolute, but apparently doesn't work for everyone. I apologize if it got your hopes up, but it wasn't a great conspiracy I planned to increase frustration among ATI users even more.

I hope this misunderstanding is now finally cleared up and that an absolute fix is on its way. It's easy to judge after the events, knowing how it will turn out. If I knew the information wouldn't work for everyone, I wouldn't have added the "resolved" tag as it seems an absolute solution which the driver update apparently isn't. Based on the information I had back then, when I added the tag, I would do it again because it seemed like the right thing to do to help this community.

For some reason (unknown to me), after closing my pc for the night and rebooting it this morning. The stuttering/freeze problem just disappeared (so far). It seems that you need to close/reboot your pc after installing the game for it work properly?

Anyway, i am glad to be able to try this game, seems like a really fun game! I Hope everyone that have this issue find that it works after a simple reboot.

The game is lots of fun Rakku! Another user recently opened a trading thread so since you are just starting you may find it useful!

So... You say I should reinstall the game after installation of catalyst 12.2?
Because simple update of the driver hasn't help. There's still a lot of stuttering.

Rakku, did you may install the new driver + game and didn't do a reboot? I expierenced such issues sometime after installing driver without reboot. Even if the setup didn't mention a reboot I always do one, to get everything refreshed.

2nd thing which comes to my mind, as I read the post from the guys where the game didn't work with 12.2.
Sometimes the removal of the previous driver is mandatory. So remove the old first, and check it was really removed completely. (sometime tools like Driver Cleaner can help here) Do the reboot and install the new driver.

I had such an issue with the change from my old card to my new 6850. I knew I should have done the old driver removal, but I didn't do it. So I pluged the new card an installed the new driver from the original driver cd.

After playing one evening without issue, the next day was horrible. I played Hunted and for some minutes and "bang" I got a split screen. Game was unplayable, because it always came to that split screen. After reading and reading I came to the conclusion the card was defect, sent it back, got a new one...same issue!

So long story short.. I found a post in a forum, which mention a overclocking issue, that such effects happen in overclocked configurations, but I didn't overclock the card. After using the overclocking tool (in this case TRIXX from sapphire) I found out that my memory settings were overclocked but I didn't do it! This caused the issue. After reseting all this settings to default, the issue never appeared.

I came to the conclusion that my lazyness of removing the older driver from the old card caused this issue. Some setting was still set in registry or some left config file, which caused the overclocking of the memory and resulted than in the splitt screen event. Even uninstalling of the old driver didn't fix it for the first tries. Only the complete reset of settings in the overclocking tool solved this issue.

So point is, that you have to do sometimes some steps more to the get the faulty stuff removed. Maybe the older driver still has some fragments left over and so the new driver isn't working properly!

Nevertheless, I am also not amused that such a game was released with such a big issue. Such things should not happen and even if it happens it must be fixed much more faster (but as some guys mentioned already the money was payed by the customer and so the aim was reached :-D)

I installed the 12.3 driver and it is still unplayable. Nothing in the release notes about resolved issues regarding this game. Also there is no mention of the game in the known issues either.

    Hello,

I have not read through this entire 12 page thread to see if my problem has been previously reported because, quite frankly, I can't be bothered and from what I have read it seems like this is a thread where everyone just has a go at the moderators.

So, I apologise if my problem has been highlighted already.

I played the game fine for a couple of days and haven't experienced any bugs or stuttering that I wouldn't normally expect to come across in any game playing on my modest system. Definitely nothing that made this game anywhere near 'unplayable'.

However, as soon as I load up the Carn-Dum (I think that is how you spell it) level it starts stuttering all over the place and does become unplayable. I can go back and play any of the previous levels with no problem which makes me think it is a problem with my game rather than my PC.

Has anyone else experienced this, or anything like it? And does anyone know of anything I can do to fix or help this problem?

I would very much like to finish this game as I have enjoyed playing it so far...

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

PS. I am using an ATI mobility Radeon HD 4670 and as I have said, it has worked perfectly up till now.
