I think the Ranger is more supposed to be the middle ground between the slow, heavy shots of the Dwarf and the weaker, fast-firing Elf. Next to that, the Ranger is far more precise than the others.
To put it in terms of guns:
Dwarf - Shotgun
Ranger - Rifles (sniper)
Elf - Machine gun
Anyway, I think the ranger does plenty of damage when properly equipped and with enough dexterity :P

That's so true as the Dúnedain were highly skilled with the use of the bow and sword. They were even as the survivors of the fallen realm of Arnor fierce in battle and still could whip back the hordes of the Enemy Orcs, Uruks, and other foul creatures! Can you tell me which bow is the best to equip Eradan with ElveHaldir?
I haven't been able to get the best gear in Legendary yet, but it kinda depends on what you built your character like.
I saw this at the WitN Wiki.
Buri's Masterpiece Bow
Price: ???
Value: 113,898
Damage: 2234-2346
+8 Dexterity
+8 Stamina
+1.5x Orc Damage
Durability: 130/130
That seems pretty decent in my eyes :P
I'm sure that someone can name something that's better for their character though.

Thanks for the assist ElveHaldir on the best bow for me to equip Eradan with!![]()
The Ranger has weak area-of-effect abilities (in comparison to say Explosive Shot or Andriel's exploding ball of death that each can do 200k+ and 50k+ damage respectively), but makes up for it with extreme versatility. He's the best at cheating death and taking little damage, and also can trigger instant critical hits and do massive single target damage with Ranger Strike and its quick cooldown.
As for the bow, the "best" bow technically you get from Glorhirim on Legendary but solely because of the damage. Orcs make up like 70% of the game, so Buri's tends to win out anyway.
I've found that he does by far the most range damage. At half way through my first play-through I was able to have shots dealing over 3000 damage, 1000 more than Andriel. And Farin, meh, I guess he can have good range but I didn't build him that way.

Me: ..Aw...
Nope, but he's got other ranged skills that makes up for that. He's got that stun skill, which also allows you to crit hit the target, and that other skill who deals a great deal of damage and, if further enhanced, also does damage over time. Farin may shoot more rapidly, but his reloading time is quite long.
The best way to use Eradan is to make use of both his weapon. He's not a brutal damage dealer like Farin, rather he is a stealthy rouge who flanks his enemy. Eradan is the most wellbalanced character of all of them; and possibly the most useful one when leveled up right.
Don't get me wrong, I still think Farin is the funniest character to play with (mainly because he is a dwarf and kicks ass!) but Eradan has his uses as well.
