Well in a sense you're right. If you ask me why I REALLY like Skyrim? Simple. Because I enjoy wandering beautiful landscapes like the ones it has, being a warrior and looking across the distant highlands, seeing Solitude in the distance, or climbing the ten thousand steps to High Hrothgar and watching the peak of Dragonsreach, tiny in the distant tundra. There was this one especially freaky moment when I was wandering the Reach and LITERALLY felt like William Wallace! Spine-tinglingly awesome!
I stopped doing quests a long time ago. Some argue the main quest wasn't a big deal but the beauty of Sovngarde nearly brought tears into my eyes. Besides, you get to fight Nidhogg in front of the Rainbow Bridge alongside Heimdall (yeah I know the names are switched)!
And for the record, Skyrim is the ONLY TES game I even bother playing (I particularly despise Oblivion and Daggerfall). BTW, I know what you mean by the "class" system in M&B but it would feel nice to have some added bonuses as well as enhancing the RPG, experience if you could formally pick something to specialize in.

Different people. Different opinions. Different taste I guess. I hate TES but I know there's many that love them. Thanks for the topic though. It feels good getting an opinion out there and having a friendly discussion with a few disagreements.

Hello everyone, I'm back! While I was gone I had a chance to try some other TES games like Oblivion and Morrowind. I must say I was..shocked. I guess Skyrim had gotten my hopes very high but they were trampled into the dust after an hour of staring at people whose faces look like bowls of tapioca pudding. I won't elaborate further, I'll just say that even though Skyrim is great, the others so far have not even come close to being as fun. TES is kinda overrated I guess...gotta try some smaller companies eh HolyTemplarKnight?

Not to throw this off topic.. but I just finished Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga (xbox 360). It gets my vote for the most overlooked/underrated game I ever came across. I've been playing since 98.

Kingdoms of Alamur: Reckoning just came in the mail.

Anyways WITN was worth it for me. Hope they salvage that battle system for another game. That said I didn't encounter game breakers so I guess I'm lucky. It's been fun.

I've heard a lot of praise for Divinity 2, so I might just have to try it (if it's available for PC), but reviews about Kingdoms of Amalur say it's too much like an MMORPG, and I kinda hate those.

Divinity 2 is indeed available for the PC. You can pick up the Dragon Knight Edition now too which contains the expansion.

Dragon's Dogma comes out in May. If you enjoyed Skyrim, I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy DD as it also has a massive open world to explore. The exploration is more like AC though (well...a bit) as you can climb and free-run but simultaneously, the world is completely open and you can literally climb up mountains and go into caves and what not. The only limitations I've seen in the world is water. Your character can't swim.

I believe there is a professional term for this, but it escapes me at the moment. I am not complaining about or comparing either game in this thread as I enjoyed (and am enjoying) both but the claims some of these people come up with are ridiculous. Anyway, I just wanted to start a thread so that people would have a better chance of reading my post than if I put it at the back of some other thread.
What bothers me a lot is people who try to appear intelligent and worthy of being heard, when they improperly use the word "whom" incorrectly. It's irritating. If you're trying to make a point, learn some grammar. Nevertheless, everyone has their own opinion, and if it doesn't effect you directly, why even respond? I like the game, played it completely through, there are places that I didn't like, and there were places I did. You are only falling for what the "loud mouths," are looking for, and that's confrontation. Who are they? Who cares? What they say, being idiotic or not, what does it matter? Without confrontation, and disagreements, these forums, without whom are not mentioned, there would be nothing to play. It's because of the users that the game makers fashion their games.

Kingdoms of Amalur I stopped playing. I can't explain it. It's a beautiful game and I can see the potential, but it's not grabbing me like some others.

I don't play games much like I use to. Dragon's Dogma and Risen 2 I'm waiting for. Divinity 2 was a blast. 3 playthroughs for me and I'm certain each playthrough was over 50 hours (no way to tell playing time in the menus). I don't know about the first Ego Draconis release but DKS was solid. It's starts off not bad/not great but builds up to be very impressive for me.

I played the demo of KoA and I didn't like it . Combats are fast but not too addictive like those of WITN are . Even the story isn't that great .

No offense but it's the internet. Perfect grammar is not important. So long as something is readable then that's okay. The grammar police can go burn in Hell for all I care. lol
