Game breaking glitches - where are they, how to avoid them, and how game breaking?

Probably gonna be picking this game up soon, I'm a huge LOTR fan but due to all the glitches and bugs I've heard about, I refrained from getting this until the price had dropped. So where are these bugs, and how do I avoid them? Also, how game breaking are they? Will I have to restart just that level, just that playthrough, or all my progress entirely? For example, if I complete the game on normal, and become stuck on heroic, will I have to restart just heroic, or normal and then heroic as well?

The real game breaking ones, such as the Mirkwood end bug, means you will need to restart the game again. So if you are playing on Heroic and Mirkwood breaks, then you will need to restart the Heroic game in it's entirety - not reload and replay each level, but actually start a new game.

The xbox 360 can file multiple saves. What really hurts is this auto-save system that overwrites the previous one. That's what makes people mad cause if something happens they have to start the whole thing over. I played solo xbox 360 and had a few glitches but nothing game breaking.
