Nasty problem

Alright.. I have a nasty problem with my game (PS3)

I had the bug, that at the end of Mirkwood, the game wouldn't let me progress.
I fixed that bug by going online with someone that had a clean save file.

I normally play with my bro in splitscreen mode, so his save is also corrupted.
Now MY save is clean, and I hoped that, if I hosted a game, HIS save would automatically be cleansed of corruption, because he basically takes my save to overwrite his own (I think that happens when you play splitscreen).

Now the game gives us the message that I (the dwarf with the clean save) is further ahead than him (the dunadan) and that saving is disabled.

This thead here http://www.warinthenorth.com/forums/...ad.php?t=24143 suggests that I should let HIM host the game, so that the message would dissappear.

I am now afraid that if he hosts the game, HIS still corrupted save would load, and that the glitch at the end of Mirkwood would occure again.

What should I do? (besides starting a whole new game and doing everything right, like talking to Beleram in the beginning of the Mirkwood chapter)...

Did you proceed far while joined up in that online game? It shouldn't give any problems if you're only a couple of chapters ahead of the other;

The easiest thing to do might be that you/your brother joins up in an online game until he reaches the point where you are at. (and that way also past the Mirkwood problem)
It is indeed very likely that the Mirkwood glitch will appear again in a game hosted with this corrupt save file, that's why I would suggest to try the online workaround with his save too. If you're at the same point in the game again (and the difference in levels isn't too great), you should be able to co-op without any problems again.

I am one chapter ahead now with the dwarf, I'm at the start of the Grey Mountains and my bro is at the last chapter of Mirkwood.

Also, will the 'We won't let you save' issue be fixed, when I (the dwarf) host the game, and then we play that chapter over? Because now we automatically start at the end of the mirkwood chapter (spider boss), but I (the dwarf) host the game.

Or will the game take his save when it says that I'm too far ahead, even if I host the game?

I tried to host with my save, and it went buggy again..

Quite ridiculous that we have to wait for someone to set up a game thats at chapter 5, to fix this issue.
Never experienced this before, a glitch that has been here for months, and still no fix?
Thanks for the help anyways, we'll try to fix this online or just start over again.
