Going by the website's hints (which are revealed by pressing F12 on Google Chrome) the game is going to be like the original games developed by Bioware. Is it a remake of Baldur's Gate or a new game set in the Forgotten Realms city of Baldur's Gate? Time will tell.
The "project" is being worked on by Beamdog which is a studio funded by an former Bioware developer.

It's confirmed it's a remake now. It's known as the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. It'll contain all the content from the original game (and the same mechanics, story, gameplay, characters) but with new extra quests and a new companion. The graphics will be in HD.
