We used the Nordinbad Solution that I found on this Forum and pasted below. We followed the advice given and succeeded at The Battle Of Nordinbad and avoided the reported Mirkwood problem.
At the Siege at Mirkwood and not being able to travel to Urgost Lair at the end of Mirkwood.
To avoid this problem in Mirkwood be sure to talk to the eagle Beleram after you defeat the Lore Master Wulfrun. Also make sure you pick up Radagasts staff which is required to complete the quest after you recue Radagasts.
Here is a YouTube Video of the Siege of Mirkwood - Defeating Lore Master Wulfrun & Talking to Beleram in Mirkwood after the defeat of Wulfrun (talk at about 8:00 minutes in the YouTube Video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9pIwBVj100
Siege at Nordinbad and not being able to
Following the Siege at Nordinbad, you must talk to the Dwarf Gorin in Nordinbad Hall. Then find the Nordinbad dining room and speak to the injured eagle Beleram. You will not be able to come back later and talk with either so do it now. After talking to Beleram, you can then leave Nordinbad and progress on the map to the final Siege of Carn Dum. Here is a YouTube Video Link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voZPQIxO-ns - Talk to the Dwarf Gorin in Nordinbad Hall located at 2:30 minutes. Then the injured eagle Beleram in Nordinbad Dining Room at 12:20 Minutes
The Siege of Nordinbad is a tough fight but we enjoyed every minute of the struggle. Some pointers that we learned are: Try to gang up on the big Orcs then get on the 2 Turrets at the first opportunity and get ready to kill the Orcs that will be coming over the wall on siege-towers normally first from the Right and then from the left. After killing all the Orcs on the first Siege-Tower fire the Turrets at the Siege-Tower and destroy it then repeat on the procedure on the other tower. Kill the Archers below while on the Turrets if you can. Then the 2 big Trolls come and they pretty much will head straight for Nordinbad doors and there is not much you can do to stop them just don't go up to the upper level and attack them because they will crash the doors if you go up there attacking them. By the way there are 2 chests on the upper level with loot and on the ground level there creates with loot including arrows. When you attack the 2 Trolls they will stay down on the lower levels and if you can keep from being killed you may defeat them but don't count on it. They will eventually head on up to the upper level. Leave them alone at this point and they won't crash the door and you can deal with the Orcs. Concentrate on the big Orcs that come with the 2 Trolls by ganging up on them as much as possible. Then kill the Archers before they kill you. Try to remain on the Mid-level when fighting these Orcs and do range shots to kill the Archers below. If you go down to the ground level to fight the Orcs and kill the Archers and then go back up to the mid-level the Troll will think that you are coming to attack and crash the doors. After a few minutes one troll will die from his wounds. An Archer usually has slips by you and is up there with the remaining Troll guarding him and shooting arrows at you. From the mid-level, kill the Archer if you want to with a range attack but mainly turn your attention to the Troll now with a range attack to the head. He will turn toward you and begin to come down. If you stop attacking he will return to the door and crash it. So keep attacking him with your range attack and you will kill him. Then a final big boss with come with his Orcs and after a hard fight you will have victory. Oh yes, I forgot the Saper fire bombers. They come before the Trolls and can do a lot of damage to the doors so position yourself for range shots and explode them with your range attacks before they can explode near the doors. That's it! Just follow the advice below to avoid the Nordinbad & Mirkwood problems and enjoy a great and exhausting fight in The Battle Of Nordinbad. The Siege of Nordinbad is one of the fights that you bought this game for so enjoy it. A lot of things have been said about game glitches by players including myself. However, now I'm wondering if the emphasis should be more about inexperience with the game than glitches. I've really enjoyed this game and I have a lot of games but War In The North is one of my favorites.

Below is the post with the advise that I followed for the Siege's of Mirkwood & Nordinbad.
"Finally, the long awaited fix for the Mirkwood/ Nordinbad glitch in LOTR: War in the North.
This fix is actually more like a workaround, but it will work for PS3, Xbox and PC. Unfortunately, it will involve starting a new game. Both the Mirkwood and Nordinbad glitches relate to interfacing with Beleram, which at certain times are actually quest items necessary to finish quests.
I played and restarted my game 6 times, each time getting stuck on one of the glitches unitl I figured this out. Have now played through a few times and everyone who has tried this fix so far has had 100% success with it.
Mirkwood
The Mirkwood glitch (not being able to talk to Beleram at end of mission, not being able to travel to Urgost Lair) actually results from not talking to Beleram after defeating Wulfrun at the beginning of the mission. Speaking to Beleram here is required to complete Wulfrun section of quest. Also make sure you pick up Radagasts staff.
Nordinbad
After the Siege at Nordinbad, you go in and talk to Gorin or whatever the head dwarf dude’s name is. After this, it is important that you go directly to speak to Beleram in the Nordinbad dining room. If you leave Nordinbad then come back to speak to Beleram later, the game will not let you progress. After talking to Beleram, you can then leave Nordinbad and progress on the map to Carn Dum.
If ever in doubt, got to your quest log, click on the relevant quest to see what you need to do. Unfortunately in this game, if you go past a quest without completing it, the game will not let you come back to do it later, thus causing the progression glitches.
Also, on a side note. To save the game, press pause, go to settings, then you can exit and save settings, which will also save your game.
On another side note, when fighting the men from Carn Dum (the really quick dual wielding guys) while holding the block button, press your normal attack. This will shove them back, disrupting their combo, allowing you to hit them.
Hope this helps.
PS. Please post this on all forums where people are having issues with us. I only joined this forum to let everyone know.
