Thread: Console port?!

    Console port?!

Let me first start by saying that I'm a massive PC gamer. I have never really branched out to console gaming, I do own an X-box 360 and also a PS3 but I focus my playing time on my PC. I remember years back before the console gaming was the main market that PC games had a lot of features that you rarely find any more with PC games which disappoints me.

I'm seeing more and more games now just being ported over to the PC with no features for the system at all. I was wondering would people want to see more features involved with a PC release? Some features could be custom mods or map designing, anything that can keep the game interesting and have people wanting to replay it.
Thus it was in Gondolin; and amid all the bliss of that realm, while its glory lasted, a dark seed of evil was sown...

I'm mainly a console player, but to me it seems there have been several good rpgs in the PC... DA:O's toolkit is amazing, Mass Effect looks much better on PC, Ego Draconis as well, and with Diablo III in the horizon I think PCs are doing fine

Since I am going to pick this game up on ps3, the only thing I do hope is that the devs can handle the multiplatform release better than Bioware.

The things I love about PC games is that you can find a community that do great mods for the games, the Oblivion community did this great.

Yes the Oblivion mods are something. I love the game!

I do see the attraction of the PC mods and community... however I work on the PC all day. I want to kick back in my bed and play without a mouse!

Completely off-topic: What's wrong with the smileys in this forum? They look like a cheap copy-n-paste that nobody bother to crop the white background properly... @.@

I would love to see a mod/mission maker. It would be really awesome. What would be even better if Snowblind made it so people can create mods with a PC version, and those mods were playable on all three platforms. Maybe I am asking too much, but with so much paid DLC stuff which I don't mind, it would be nice to see some free user created content.

Heck they could even go the Rock Band way and let you make missions, sell them for a low price like $1-$3 and they take a % of the money. Win-Win for Snowblind, the fans and the Mission makers.

Thats a great idea, would attract alot of people to the game aswell if they had features like that.

    Re: Console port?!

Actually we know that there have been mods on some games on the PS3, the 360 being harder because of their approach to business.

I have been pestering Bioware to live up to their promise to try to bring community mods to ps3. Hopefully we will see them some time in the future, although I doubt they would be free as they would need to be approved by developer+Sony to comply with QA. However as long as they sell them "at cost" I don't think the PC modders would mind.
