    Trout

Yeah,i actually made an interesting find while looking for information about blunt weapons..for someone, cant remember who

So i think that this far,we've all always thought that elf is forced to use her staff, and because of this, magic. However, while watching The weapons development video,i came across with this picture:

According to this picture, she actually is allowed to get rid of her staff, and therefore magic. I think that would be great, especially for people who'd like to create female ranger or just dont like magic in Middle-earth. Of course some of the enemies will still use it,but at least you wont have to see it inside of your own group.

Or then that's just really weird looking staff, who knows :P I think Staff has always been in Left hand though, where she's wielding an dagger now.

I thought I spotted something like that in a trailer, but it was difficult to tell from the perspective. It looks like a blade as you say. I'd certainly like to have versatility with her. Dual wielding. I'm planning to play through as her either way - perhaps this is for closer combat and melee.

It's hard to know what this weapon is. Is it a club? Is it a staff? Is it just an early screenshot and things have changed? I'm not sure but it would be awesome if we could dual wield weapons with Andriel and have her as a battle-mage. We'll just have to wait and see...
Elrond: Nine companions. So be it. You shall be the fellowship of the ring.
Pippin: Great! Where are we going?

It's only two months old,i think. Also,in the same video there was picture of Andriel with a staff,so no,this isn't one of those earlier Ranger pictures :P

    It's weird,we'll see.

My thoughts exactly. It's all very mysterious - but I would absolutely love to dual wield with her. It looks that way from this image, but of course it could be deceptive - perhaps more info will come soon to clarify. Either way, she looks like she means business.

I suppose there's no technical reason she couldn't dual wield, or use a secondary weapon like a dagger. She could use more than one offensive - as a mage...

Since many games now follow the formulae of ranged attack and melee - this could be her melee dagger or similar.

hmm just so use to the thought of the lore-master as having a staff it seems a bit weird to imagine having her without one. I like how it adds a uniqueness to her but I'm going gandalf on this one, staff and sword for me.

Pippin: Not too happy at all, Merry.
Merry: Still, I suppose the view would be quite nice from up there.
Pippin: Oh yes, its a quality establishment. I hear the staff are VERY good

I'm keen to find out if this does mean dual-wielding for her.

I'd say using a staff and a sword is dual-wielding =). I get what your saying and I agree it would be nice to know if this was a thought or something that's actually going to happen.

I heard you can dual wield with the dwarf and human, but I don't know about her.
Gimli: "So much for the legendary courtesy of the Elves! Speak words we can also understand!"

Haldir: "We have not had dealings with the Dwarves since the Dark Days."

Gimli: "And you know what this Dwarf says to that? Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul!
